Chowbus is a fast growing, well-funded food startup headquartered here in Chicago on a mission to help diners to discover new and exquisite dishes, and to give traditional mom and pop restaurants a fighting chance to succeed without compromising who they truly are. By building a super app, our goal is to be the one stop shop for everything related to food.

About the Role

Chowbus is seeking an experienced but hands-on specialist to enhance our culture in a period of high growth by participating in the development of the company’s human resources and administration functions. In this role, You will be responsible for critical aspects of Human Resources management and partner with management to create and maintain development plans that support our people and culture across our different offices.

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as the first point of contact for all systems, processes, and issues related to employee experience

  • Provide guidance to managers and team around ad-hoc HR and employment issues

  • Manage employee on-boarding and off-boarding

  • Work directly with team in different functions to source candidates for open positions and liaise with any recruiting firms we have retained

  • Be the face of the company while coordinating the interview process, including outreach and scheduling

  • Lead coordination of company events and activities in coordination with the office manager

  • Serve as the contact person for all immigration issues, including H-1B Visas, OPT and Green Cards. Act as a liaison between the company and law firm and immigration authorities.  

  • Provide support and oversee various office management responsibilities. Monitor and maintain office supplies inventory.

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s Degree.

  • You have 2+ years experience in HR Operations

  • You are a team worker and take initiatives

  • Knowledge of labor and employment laws

  • Experience with immigration policies

  • Experience of working in a startup-style environment

  • Ability to drive change and organize details in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment

  • Highly detail-oriented and organized
